Xtreme Simple Websites - Because no Website = No Business

In this current day and age, there is simply no excuse for a business not having any kind of presence on the web. By not doing so, you are making it almost literally impossible for potential customers to find your business among the endless competition out there that may have a site, however basic it may be. Even if someone was to search specifically for your business name, the best they could hope for is a Yellow Pages result on the Google listing and perhaps a Google map, with no details about your company or what it does... never mind that the chances of finding your business when conducting a general search for the product or service you provide would basically be zero. According to research, 80% of females and 76% of males get product information from Websites they visit. With this year's edition of the printed Yellow Pages intended by CENSIS to be the last, it is now more important than ever to have a proper presence on the web and be listed in search engines; however, we understand many (especially small) companies are reluctant to spend money on an elaborate website that may cost them several thousand dollars up front while providing content or features a business of that scale may not really need. This is why at Xtreme we are now offering Xtreme Simple Websites at an Xtremely reasonable price!

What does an Xtreme Simple Website offer you?

  • A clean, professional look with all the necessary main details contained within one single page
  • An appropriate and short domain name so that people can find and remember your website address easily
  • Full incorporation of your company's branding, logo and colour scheme into one slick package
  • Your company's contact details, map for potential customers, and any other relevant copy you wish to be displayed
  • Near-instant loading times from being hosted on our company's premium-grade servers
  • A listing in Search Engines that makes it possible for potential customers to find you

Pricing for an Xtreme Simple Website is an Xtremely low $299 for the page, with hosting prices dependent on the customer's chosen plan. So Keep It Simple, drop us a line, and get yourself a presence on the web today. Because remember:

No Website = No Business.

Why use IP Surveillance? See for yourself - live, right now - Xtreme Comparative Feeds

We have mentioned in the past the difference in quality between older, analogue systems and our digital AXIS camera solutions. However, we figured - why simply listen to us, when we can show you? Xtreme have set up live video feeds of a top of the range analogue camera system linked directly into our AXIS surveillance camera system (currently using a mid-level fixed AXIS camera) via a 4-port AXIS analogue encoder, and have live feeds of the cameras, fixed on the same location, running side by side so that you can see the difference for yourselves. Each of the cameras are mounted high above the ground as we are not able to show footage of the inside of our office, thus there are not as many nearby objects with which to capture the clear definition that is available in closer or inside areas. Bare in mind that these feeds are taken from the footage of both cameras at the exact same time and under the exact same conditions, being physically located right next to each other, and you should be able to get a sense of what the difference between analogue and digital surveillance solutions truly is.

You can access the live feeds of our cameras and compare them for yourself by using the following link:

Analogue versus IP camera - http://www.xtreme.com.au/ip-surveillance

Simply visit the page and click on the live image links in order to view the feeds.(NOTE: the frame rate at which the footage displays will depend on the speed of your Internet connection and is not entirely representative of the actual movement speed. Also note that, for bandwidth purposes, the number of simultaneous anonymous viewers is limited to 5 at any one time, so you may need to try again shortly if the current number of users is full.)

The rise of digital surveillance has laid bare analog’s many shortcomings. Analogue CCTV systems, while not only providing far lower imaging quality, are generally maintenance intensive, offer no remote accessibility, and are notoriously difficult to integrate with other systems. Despite these obvious deficiencies, the end user who has invested in cameras, cables, and more, and is satisfied with the current quality is right to ask, “Why buy new equipment?” In addition, implementing a digital system does not require throwing away those trusted (and already paid-for) cameras. With IP Surveillance, you can still use all the cameras, lenses, and cables in place through this step-by-step migration to digital technology.

Combine the quality, functionality, ease of use and future proofing provided by IP Surveillance, and ask yourself - why settle for anything less? Both you and your business deserve better.

Surveillance Video Timelapse – Brisbane Holiday Village
Posted on the 12 November 2009, 10:31 am

Following the recent setup of an IP Surveillance system at on of our client's parks, Brisbane Holiday Village, Xtreme have put together a time-lapse video from our AXIS Q1755 camera-based system showing demolition of a current building and soon to have a new facility being built over the coming months.

The direct link to the video, to allow to viewing in larger, HD resolution, can be found by clicking here.

We chose the AXIS Q1755 for a multitude of reasons. Possessing intelligent video capabilities including H.264 and motion jpeg full frame rate, day and night functionality and providing exceptional quality images even of fast-moving objects, the AXIS Q1755 also provides 10x optical and 12x digital zoom, making it ideal for outdoor surveillance solutions that require high quality imaging at large resolutions.

The camera even comes with an option to take SD/SDHC memory cards for recording, and runs off PoE (Power over Ethernet) which eliminates the need for power cables while reducing installation costs, as well as anti-tampering detection from vandalism methods such as blocking or spray painting which are crucially important for an outdoor-based security camera.

The video itself is shot at 16x speed and was taken over only a half-hour period; it was also resized to a far lower resolution for both viewing and uploading purposes. The actual maximum resolution of the AXIS camera footage is 1900x1800 pixels.

Stay tuned to Xtreme's website for both real demonstrative  images and the finalized reconstruction time-lapse video in the near future!

FREE Xtreme Website Makeovers
Posted on the 6 November 2009, 9:26 am

As a company based almost wholly on the Internet and with Internet-related services, we understand the value of having a quality website. It's the face of your company; people are much more likely these days to find you on Google rather than pick up the Yellow Pages or notice any other physical advertising. That's why we believe every visit to your website should count. According to a study carried out by the BBC, the average attention span of someone visiting a new page on the web is approximately 9-10 seconds. As shallow as it may be, much like we do with people we usually form an opinion on them within that short time - and no matter how great your business is, people won't waste their time trying to navigate around an ugly, cluttered site, meaning possible lost revenue for business.

To show you what we can do for you, Xtreme is proud to offer the "Xtreme Makeover" service - simply send us a legitimate request about your website, along with some further information about theming, colour schemes and logos, etc., and we will produce a draft for you for free so you can see the potential difference for yourself. With experience designing websites for a huge variety of businesses in multiple different industries including tourism, construction, industrial and manufacturing, eCommerce, architecture and many, many more, we know what it takes to create positive results for businesses on the web. Best of all, we won't charge you to draft up the layout.

If you choose to go forward with a website with us, Xtreme can also offer full integration of our CMS, or Content Management System, that allows you to easily and efficiently administer and perform future updates on your own website by yourself. Research says Spam at 94% of all mail - watch Kerio Spam Filter at Work
Posted on the 3 November 2009, 3:06 pm

SPAM mail - as long as we have an Internet connection and an e-mail address, we all deal with it on a daily basis. Also known as "junk e-mail", spam is a series of either nearly or totally identical messages sent to multiple recipients by e-mail. Having grown exponentially since the early 1990s to the current several billion messages a day, spam has frustrated, confused and annoyed e-mail users for as long as we can remember. However, recently developments in filtering technology have greatly cut down on the amount of spam received - and at Xtreme, we believe we are using the best combination of anti-spam protection and reasonable price - Kerio's Mail service.

According to latest statistics from the New York Times, spam currently constitutes an unbelievable 94% of all e-mail sent, and although governments have made attempts to put controlling legislation on the distribution of spam mail, it has not deterred spammers from continuing their dubious practice; thus having a premium quality and highly effective spam filtering mail client is crucial for both your and our businesses.

Taking a look at a recent snapshot of overall statistics for Xtreme's total mail breakdown, seeing visual proof of the numbers is staggering. As can be seen by the graph below, of an overall sum of 549,338 e-mails received at time of sampling, the figure of 372,400 of those e-mails were either outright rejected by Kerio or tagged as spam for review. That's a figure of 68% of all messages being filtered as junk.

Assuming an average viewing time of 1 hour 43 minutes of viewing time per business day (study: American Management Association; general office environment, 2007), time spent dealing with spam by either viewing or deleting e-mails works out to approximately 1 hour 10 minutes a day per employee. The raw cost in man-hours itself means an automatic loss of wasted revenue for a company and justifies investment in a suitable filtering service such as Kerio.

As the first Certified Partner of Kerio Technologies Inc. in Australia, Xtreme places firm trust in the system and have witnessed its' effectiveness firsthand for several years. We wholly endorse the product and as an Information Technology-based business, believe us - it's worth it.

For more information about Kerio and spam filtering in general, check out Kerio's website at Kerio Mailserver Homepage or our Kerio Mailserver summary at Xtreme Kerio .

Xtreme conversion to Sonicwall Routers
Posted on the 28 October 2009, 12:45 pm

Many of our customers may have noticed that we have recently switched over to the use of Sonicwall's range of routing equipment. Resolving many problems that came with other routing solutions, two main models of Sonicwall routers are being adopted by Xtreme at present - the TZ 210 and NSA 240.

TZ 210

Overview:

Many businesses have invested in faster Internet connectivity, only to see it bottlenecked as their firewall struggles with higher volumes of emerging threats. The results: poor network performance, barely adequate protection and overall frustration. It’s time to unchain your network. And for many businesses, downtime is just not an option. How can your business stay productive and profitable if you lose access to your firewall, VPN or ISP? If your primary infrastructure fails, you need to be certain that your network—and your business—won't skip a beat. The Sonicwall TZ 210 provides performance you can rely on.

Features and benefits of the TZ 210:

The flagship of the revolutionary TZ Series, the new TZ 210 builds upon the TZ 200 and delivers our most sophisticated and future-proofed TZ Series offering. The TZ 210 adds high-performance dual GbE interfaces for WAN and primary LAN (independent or part of a configurable 5-port Fast Ethernet switch), along with 50 Mbps of full Unified Threat Management throughput—40% faster than the TZ 200. The TZ 210 future-proofs your network with integrated SSL VPN secure remote access and ultra-fast 802.11n wireless. The TZ 210 also features powerful Application Firewall functionality, enabling data leakage prevention, custom signature creation, and control over Web 2.0 applications such as social networking sites. And dual USB ports for 3G and analog modem failover give the TZ 210 redundant reliability. The TZ 210 simply delivers the most comprehensive network security for distributed enterprises and SMBs available for its' price range.

NSA 240

The SonicWALL NSA 240 is a next-generation Unified Threat Management platform, utilizing a breakthrough multi-core hardware design with 2 cores and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces to deliver real-time network protection without compromising performance. Ideal for small-to-midsize corporate and branch office environments.

Features and benefits of the NSA 240:

The NSA 240 comes with a range of high-end firewalling and routing features such as deep packet inspection and multi-threat protection, providing a fully integrated gateway anti-virus system, anti-spyware, intrustion prevention, and application firewall for perimeter and internal protection to keep data safe from both the inside and out. Giving powerful performance with its' 2-core architecture, the NSA 240 offers a 600Mbps stateful packet inspection firewall that provides 150Mbps 3DES and AES VPN throughput, plus 110Mbps full Unified Threat Management (UTM) inspection. With flexibility of deployment stemming from its' inherent branch office and department network applications, the platform is a rock-solid stability solution for comprehensive security in keeping your network safe from new and evolving threats. It also helps to remove any network performance bottlenecks.
